Congratulations on your admission to Christopher Newport University!    We commend you on your outstanding accomplishments and look forward to your future achievements at CNU.   To help get you started, we've created Enrollment Checklists and related web sites.   Check back often as we make regular updates.

Enrollment Checklist  Complete before May 1, 2007

  Plan to Attend
If you haven't already, we hope you say "yes" to the best for years of your life.   To let us know that you'll be joining the CNU family in the fall, simply complete the Plan to Attend Form, or mail the card included in your original admission letter.    Your plan to attend confirmation must be received before May 1, 2007.

 Submit Housing Request and Pay Housing Deposit
Freshmen and sophomores are required to reside in University housing unless you live with a parent or legal guardian in Gloucester County, Hampton, Isle of Wight County, James City County, Mathews County, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg or York County.   To reserve a residence hall space, a $250 deposit is required by May 1, 2007.    You may access and complete the Housing Request Form using the ID number that was mailed to you.    Please print, sign and return two copies of this Housing and Dining Services Contract Acceptance Form, along with your $250 housing deposit.   To learn more about the housing deposit, click here.

Register For Setting Sail-- Orientation Program 

Setting Sail, our new student orientation program, is mandatory for all first year students planning to attend CNU.   You must choose one of the following program dates :  June 18-19, 21-22, 25-26 or 28-29.  

 In two informative and fun packed days, you'll meet future classmates, participate in exciting and informative sessions on academic and student life, meet your faculty advisor and schedule your classes.     Orientation continues with Welcome Week, a three-day University Academic Orientation program, which begins on August 22 and continues through August 26.    A one-time fee of $250 covers the costs for Setting Sail and Welcome Week.   An invitation explaining how to register for Setting Sail and submit the reservation fee will be mailed in March and available online April 1.

  Financial Aid
If you wish to apply for need based financial aid you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than February 15th, to ensure we receive your application by the March 1st priority receipt date.  CNU's school code for the FAFSA is 003706.   Return your award letter and notify CNU of all outside or private scholarships, grants or other aid.   More about financial aid process at CNU, click here.

Enrollment Checklist--Complete before start of classes

 Send Your Final High School or College Transcripts
Your enrollment at CNU is continent upon graduation and the successful completion of your current coursework.   Ask your guidance counselor to send your final high school transcript.  Your transcript must be received before the start of classes.

 AP, IB, Cambridge and Dual Enrollment Credit

Send the results of your AP, IB and Cambridge examinations to the Office of the Registrar before the start of classes.    Also, send official college transcripts if you would like to receive credit for a college level course taken while you were enrolled in high school.

Send Your Certificate of Immunization & Review Important Health Information

CNU is committed to the health and well being of its students.   In an effort to promote a healthy environment in which to live and learn, the University has created an immunization policy that incorporates the guidelines for immunizations set forth in the Code of Virginia, Section 23-7.5.  The Certificate of Immunization must be completed by a licensed health care professional and sent to the Office of the Registrar no later than August 1.   Please review Meningitis Information Sheet and Meningitis Waiver Form.     Questions?    Contact Health and Wellness Services.

 Room Assignments Mailed

Room assignments will be mailed in July and August.  More about the selection process, click here.

 Tuition, Room & Board Payments Due
