CNU welcomes students who take classes without pursuing a degree. Whether you’re studying to enhance your career or just for fun, you’ll find plenty of non-degree options at the undergraduate or graduate [these go to anchors on this page] level. Here’s how to apply.

Apply for Undergraduate Coursework
  • Check our deadlines. For fall semester, submit all materials by April 15. For spring semester, the deadline is Oct. 15.
  • Submit the application. You may apply online  or   download the paper version.
  • Submit the $45 application fee. Pleas
  • e print out and send the fee form with your check.
  • Submit official transcript(s) from all high schools and colleges attended. (Download the transcript request form here.) You must be academically eligible to return to the last institution attended, and have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA on past academic work.
  • In-state tuition rate determination.  If you are a resident of Virginia, you must complete the application for in-state tutition rates (PDF, opens new window.)

Apply for Graduate Coursework

  • Check our deadlines. For fall semester, submit all materials by May 1. For spring semester, the deadline is Nov. 1. For summer, the deadline is April 15.
  • Submit the application. You may apply online.
  • Submit the $35 application fee. Please print out and send the fee form with your check.
  • Submit official transcript(s) from all colleges attended. (Download the transcript request form here.) You must be academically eligible to return to the last institution attended, and have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA on past academic work.
  • In-state tuition rate determination.  If you are a resident of Virginia, you must complete the application for in-state tutition rates.

Apply as a Teacher

If you’re a Virginia teacher, you may enroll in a graduate course for re-licensure or continued professional development with graduate non-degree status. With this status, you’ll be able to take any graduate (500- or 600-level) course at the University, as long as you’ve met the prerequisites and earned an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Check our deadlines. For fall semester, submit all materials by May 1. For spring semester, the deadline is Nov. 1. For summer, the deadline is April 15.
  • Submit the application. You may apply online.
  • Submit the $35 application fee. Please print out and send the fee form with your check.
  • Submit a transcript verifying that your baccalaureate degree was completed with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • In-state tuition rate determination.  If you are a resident of Virginia, you must complete the application for in-state tutition rates.
